This Privacy Policy explains what information SolMate collects when you use the app, how we use it, and the choices you have. SolMate is a non-custodial Solana wallet with a built-in community, currently running on the Solana devnet. Because it is built on a public blockchain, some of your activity is inherently public and permanent.
Blockchain data is public by design
Your wallet address and every transaction you sign — sends, receives, and other transfers of SOL and tokens — are recorded on the Solana blockchain. That data is public, permanent, and outside our control. Anyone can read it, and we cannot delete or alter it. When you use a wallet, you are choosing to make your on-chain activity visible.
What SolMate stores
To run the app’s off-chain community features, our backend stores:
- Profile details you choose to set — a display name and avatar linked to your wallet address.
- Posts and comments you publish in the community feed — the text, images, and links you provide, shown next to your wallet or display name.
- Social graph — the accounts you follow and who follows you.
- Basic technical logs — request metadata such as timestamps and error information, used to keep the Service running and secure.
We do not collect your seed phrase or private keys — we never have access to them — and we do not require an email, phone number, or real-world identity to use the app.
How we use this information
- To operate core features: profiles, the community feed, posts, comments, and follows.
- To display your public profile and content to other users.
- To keep the Service secure, prevent abuse, debug issues, and enforce our Terms.
We do not sell your data
We do not sell, rent, or trade your information, and we do not run third-party advertising or behavioral-tracking pixels. We only share data where it is necessary to run the app (see “Third parties”) or where required by law.
Cookies and local storage
SolMate uses your browser’s local storage rather than tracking cookies. Specifically, we store:
- Your wallet key material for any wallet you create or import in the app — this is stored only on your device so you can sign transactions. It is never sent to us.
- A session token (JWT) issued after you sign a message to authenticate — this keeps you logged in so you can post, comment, follow, and manage your profile.
- Lightweight preferences such as your language and interface settings.
These live only in your browser. Clearing your browser storage signs you out and removes those preferences. We do not use local storage to track you across other websites.
Third parties
When you use SolMate, you also interact with services we do not control:
- Solana RPC providers broadcast and read your transactions; they may see your IP address and wallet activity.
- Wallet software (such as Phantom or Solflare) handles signing and has its own privacy policy.
- Hosting and infrastructure providers process traffic and store our backend data on our behalf.
Your use of those services is governed by their own privacy practices.
Data retention
Off-chain data we store (profiles, posts, comments, follows) is kept for as long as your account is active or as needed to operate the Service. On-chain data cannot be deleted by anyone, including us.
Your choices
- You can edit or clear your display name and avatar at any time.
- You can disconnect your wallet and clear local storage to remove your session and preferences.
- To request deletion of the off-chain profile data associated with your wallet, contact us using the details below. Note that public on-chain activity and content already shared cannot be erased.
Children
SolMate is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated policy.
